Carbon offset

Enterprise Rent-A-Car Corporate Environmental Initiative

How to take part

With every private rental, Enterprise Rent-A-Car customers are offered the opportunity to reduce their impact on the climate by offsetting the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions generated by an average rental car operating in our fleet. Simply select the carbon offset option when booking your car hire online at www.enterprise.co.uk or ask at the branch.

The £1.25
(€1.25 ROI) paid by the customer for the offset will be collected by Enterprise and passed on to ClimateCare to be invested in their portfolio of carbon reduction projects. Initiatives range from replacing the traditional Lao stove in Cambodia with a version delivering measurable gains in efficiency, through to supplying and installing treadle pumps in India, allowing farmers on the plains to grow crops all year round, whilst reducing their use of fossil fuels.

According to ClimateCare, for every 100,000 customers who choose to take part in this programme, with Enterprise’s pound-for-pound (euro-for-euro ROI) match, they will offset more than 33,000 metric tons of
CO2. This is the equivalent of a year’s savings from changing over a million incandescent light bulbs for efficient compact fluorescent ones in the UK.
